Assistant Sales Floor Manager

This position plays an important role in creating a positive environment for our team and ensuring our customers have an enjoyable shopping experience. Our retail store operates during the months of May and June, so this is a seasonal role with the possibility of extending into additional work during our planning and production seasons.

Essential Functions

  • Supervise and support sales greenhouse staff, providing guidance and leadership throughout the season
  • Oversee the store checkout process and ensure transactions run smoothly and efficiently
  • Help create a welcoming environment that ensures customers have a positive shopping experience
  • Serve as the senior resource for customer questions and product inquiries
  • Address and resolve customer concerns or complaints in a professional and courteous manner
  • Maintain a safe environment for both customers and staff
  • Oversee daily store operations, including stock replenishment, product merchandising, and maintaining clean, attractive displays

Necessary Job Skills

  • Proficient in understanding and using counterpoint POS systems
  • Problem solving – resolve operational or customer issues efficiently and effectively
  • High level of knowledge regarding plants and gardening
  • Effective leader and communicator
  • Retail sales and customer service

Experience

  • Greenhouse and/ or Garden Centre experience
